“England Women’s tour to Pakistan would send a strong message,” says Heather Knight

England’s both Women and Men cricket team are scheduled to tour Pakistan from 13th October next month. This would be the first time that the country’s women will be traveling to Pakistan while the Men’s team last went there in 2005. The Women’s will be playing 2 T20Is and 3 ODIs while the men’s team will be playing 2 T20Is.

With the series just around the corner, England women captain Heather Knight has said that she thinks that this tour would send a strong message and she is excited to be the first captain of the first England Women team to play in Pakistan.

Knight said, “I personally think it would be a good thing for us to go to Pakistan. It would be a huge thing as the first-ever England women’s side to go and tour there.”

However, due to the ongoing Afghanistan crisis, uncertainty regarding going ahead with the tour still exists but as Knight said, talks are going on and there will be a final decision very soon.

“I think there’s a security update due very soon, so we’re just waiting on that and we’re just waiting to see,” Knight said.

“Things are obviously changing very quickly at the moment, but we’re still in conversation and we’re just waiting on a few things to try and work out what’s going to happen.”
