Jhulan Goswami wins CSJS award for Best Sportsperson of 2018

Another colorful feather got added to the crown of Jhulan Goswami, world’s leading wicket-taker in women’s one-day internationals when she was awarded the ‘Best Sportsperson’ award of the year by the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club on 23rd April.

Expressing her gratitude and happiness, Jhulan didi posted on her instagram handle and said, “Honoured to be named ‘Best Sportsperson of the Year’ by Calcutta sports journalist club. Will keeping doing my best in the coming days too.”

In 2018, Goswami played seven one-day internationals, bowled 56.2 overs, took 12 wickets and conceded just 191 runs at an economy rate of 3.39. Her four-wicket haul against South Africa Women in February 2018 was the best bowling figures for the legend.

Apart from this, Bengal State player Tanusree Sarkar begged the “Best cricketer of the year” award. Sarkar was a part of India A Women’s team in 2018.
