Harkness shall work with Adelaide Strikers ahead of the sixth edition of Rebel WBBL and the KFC BBL season 10. It is interesting to note that Strikers had first employed Harkness as their Operations Manager in 2016. She then went on to work as the Senior Manager. Further, Harkness has also led the management of winners of the seventh season of Big Bash League.

Harkness has always been supporters of female outing in sports. She, further, is actively involved in SACA’s commitment to affirmative progress and equality of women’s game. Keith Bradshaw, CEO of SACA, said that Harkness has always been an outstanding employee for SACA from her start in 2016.

Bradshaw further said that “She is a fantastic operator and the rise in women’s sport along with Kate’s progression through the organisation is no coincidence”. It is interesting to note that Harkness would also be handling the new responsibilities for managing media during the first half of the stay in WBBL village. Kate Harkness got her career started in the AFL where she was roped by Brisbane Lions and Richmond Football Clubs for commercial and media roles.

On her appointment with the Strikers, Harkness said that “It’s been an honour representing the Strikers in such an exciting competition and I can’t wait to contribute further to the sustained success of the Big Bash Leagues. I’m also looking forward to the unique challenges that both the WBBL and BBL seasons present this year, which will be a testament to the remarkable efforts of everyone in Australian cricket”.
