In the Eliminator of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Delhi Capitals defeated Gujarat Giants by 7 wickets, with 26 balls to spare in a must-win game for both sides to advance to the final at the Vadodara International Cricket Stadium, Kotambi.

Delhi Capitals skipper, Jemimah Rodrigues, had won the toss and decided to bowl first against Gujarat Giants. The Giants didn’t get off to the best of starts as they lost Sophie Devine, Anushka Sharma and Ashleigh Gardner in the powerplay. However, Beth Mooney and Georgia Wareham stitched a wonderful partnership to revive her side with a partnership of 61 runs.
Kashvee Gautam also gave a good cameo in the end, as she scored 18 runs off 10 balls. Nandni Sharma started off the proceedings with two early wickets and Chinelle Henry had also picked up 3 wickets in the innings to stumble the Giants on their way to set a decent total. The Giants were able to set a total of 168 runs, a decent total on board and the Capitals also gave away 19 runs with just wides.
In the 2nd innings, Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma kicked off the innings in a fabulous manner as the duo got a partnership of 89 runs to set the tone. After a powerful start in the powerplay, Georgia Wareham picked up two wickets in a single over and gave away just 3 runs in the over. Then came Laura Wolvaardt and Jemimah Rodrigues with a strong partnership of 68 runs off 41 balls. Delhi Capitals completed their chase in 15.4 overs and booked their spot in the final.

Beth Mooney
After having a terrible start to the innings, losing three in the powerplay, Mooney had to shoulder the responsibility of carrying her batting unit to a respectable total. She scored a magnificent 62* off 51 balls, including 6 fours and a strike rate of 121.56. She remained not out till the end and formed partnerships with Wareham and Gautam to take her side to a total of 168 runs from the 20 overs.
Lizelle Lee
At the start of the chase, Delhi Capitals had to get off to a fine start to lay the foundation for the chase. Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma put up a solid opening stand of 89 runs to start the innings. Lizelle Lee scored a quickfire 43 off just 24 balls, including 8 fours and 1 six and a strike rate of 179.16. She got her side off to a flying start with some blistering shots but was dismissed by Georgia Wareham.
Jemimah Rodrigues
The captain walked into bat at number 4 when her team required 67 runs off 72 balls and she powered the team over the line, almost. Rodrigues came into bat at a relatively comfortable situation and she chose to be the aggressor, firing 41 off just 23 balls, including 4 boundaries and a six at a strike rate of 178. She was dismissed by Rajeshwari Gayakwad in the dying moments of the game, when the Capitals required just 9 runs to seal their spot in the final.
Chinelle Henry
In the beginning of the match, Chinelle Henry had dismissed Sophie Devine in the very 2nd over of the game. She was then hit for quite a few runs but then came back brilliantly towards the end with two crucial wickets at the end. She picked up 3 wickets and gave away 35 runs from her 4 overs. She dismissed a well-set Georgia Wareham and the dangerous Bharti Fulmali for a duck. She played a crucial role in limiting the Gujarat Giants to a relatively easy total to chase.
