In the 6th Match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 edition, Gujarat Giants will take on the defending champions, Mumbai Indians. Gujarat Giants have been in excellent form as a unit, with their batting unit having crossed the 200-run mark twice already, and they have won both their matches so far. Sophie Devine and Ashleigh Gardner have been in excellent touch, which contributes significantly to their success as a team, as they can dominate with both bat and ball. The Gardner-led side will be high on confidence as they prepare for yet another challenge against the fiery Mumbai Indians. Here are the top 3 players to look out for in Gujarat Giants against Mumbai Indians:

Sophie Devine
Sophie Devine has been in excellent touch over the past couple of months and she has clearly reflected that here in the WPL as well. In her T20I career, she has scored 2850 runs at a strike rate of 120 and she has also picked up 119 wickets from 123 innings. In her WPL career, she has scored 535 runs and picked up 13 wickets from 16 innings. Against Delhi Capitals, she went berserk with a power-hitting masterclass of 95 off 42 balls and she also defended 7 runs off the last over, while picking 2 wickets as well. Devine will be looking to play a few more of these and help the Giants seal a spot at the top.
Ashleigh Gardner
Ashleigh Gardner has been Australia’s key batter for quite some time now, and her ability to contribute with both bat and ball is highly rated. In her T20I career, she has scored 1411 runs at a strike rate of 127, and she has picked up 78 wickets from 84 innings at an economy rate of 6 as well. In the WPL, she has scored 681 runs at a strike rate of 145, and she has also picked up 26 wickets from 27 matches. In her most recent match against Delhi Capitals, she scored 49 off just 26 balls, which was really important because the match went right to the wire. The skipper’s form would be one to watch out for, especially with the responsibility to take her side over the finish line.
Rajeshwari Gayakwad
Rajeshwari Gayakwad, the slow left-arm bowler, has been a threat to the batters at both the international level and in franchise cricket. In her T20I career, she has picked up 61 wickets from 55 innings at an economy of 6. She has been a valuable spinner in the Indian bowling unit. However, Gayakwad hasn’t found her flow in the WPL as she has picked only 16 runs from 19 innings at an economy of over 8. But in her recent performance against Delhi Capitals, she did a great job by just conceding 34 runs in a high-scoring match, and she also picked up the important wicket of Shafali Verma. Gayakwad could be a key player to Gujarat’s plans to qualify for the playoffs.
