In the 6th match of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Mumbai Indians will take on the Gujarat Giants at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Harmanpreet Kaur’s side started their campaign with a loss against RCB in a close match, where they chased down 18 from the last 4 balls. However, Mumbai bounced back in the game against Delhi Capitals, with batting heroics from their star all-rounder Natalie Sciver-Brunt and their skipper Harmanpreet Kaur. Harmanpreet Kaur

Harmanpreet Kaur, the Mumbai Indians skipper, has been in fabulous form over the past couple of months. In her T20I career, 3784 runs from 167 innings and has also picked up 32 wickets. In the WPL, she has been the stalwart player of the Mumbai Indians since the start of the WPL. She has scored 945 runs from her 29 innings at a strike rate of 145. She also flexed her muscle against the Delhi Capitals as she scored 74* off 42 balls, winning the player of the match award. Harmanpreet Kaur has found her purple patch, and she would be very difficult to stop now.

Natalie Sciver-Brunt

Natalie Sciver-Brunt, the English star all-rounder, has arguably been one of the best all-rounders in recent years with several match-winning performances. In her T20I career, she has scored 2960 runs at a strike rate of 119, and she has also picked up 90 wickets from the 137 matches that she has played in. In the WPL, she has scored 1101 runs at a strike rate of 142, and she has also picked up 35 wickets from 31 innings. In her most recent match against the Delhi Capitals, she scored 70(46), which built up the innings for the Mumbai Indians. She will be looking to carry forward her form and carry her side to yet another title in the WPL.

Shabnim Ismail

Shabnim Ismail has been a key bowler on the international stage for South Africa, as she is widely regarded for her consistency and her fiery pace. In her T20I career, she has picked up 123 wickets from 112 games at an economy of 5. In her WPL career, she has picked up 22 wickets from 22 games at an economy of 6. She is one of the quickest female bowlers as she has clocked 128 kph in one of her premier matches. In her most recent spell against the Delhi Capitals, she left the Delhi batters baffled by picking up a wicket and giving away only 14 runs from her 4 overs. Shabnim Ismail will be a key player in their plans, considering her experience and abilities with the bowl.
