With the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 concluded, the latest edition of the premier women’s T20 league witnessed thrilling action, not only with the bat but also with the ball. Amelia Kerr, who finished the season with 18 wickets—the most in a single season in WPL history—walked away with the Purple Cap. Here’s a look at the best bowling performances from WPL 2025.

Amelia Kerr (Mumbai Indians) – 5/38 vs UP Warriorz
The Purple Cap winner of WPL 2025, Amelia Kerr, added another feather to her cap as she finished the season with the best bowling figures. The young Kiwi spinner delivered a match-winning performance with the ball against UP Warriorz in Match 16 of the tournament.
After UP Warriorz were put in to bat first, Grace Harris and Georgia Voll gave them a flying start, racing to 74/0 in 7 overs. However, after Harris’ dismissal, the Warriorz looked to build on the platform as Kiran Navgire and Deepti Sharma arrived at the crease. Kerr struck early, dismissing Navgire on her second delivery by tempting her into a big shot. Charging down the track in an attempt to go big, Navgire sliced it high into the air, where Parunika Sisodia at short third man took a catch on her second attempt.
Deepti Sharma and Dinesh Vrinda tried to build a partnership, but in the 15th over, Kerr struck twice. She removed Vrinda, who attempted to clear long-on but found Shabnim Ismail instead. Chinelle Henry came in as the big hitter, smashing Kerr for a six on her first delivery, but Kerr had the last laugh, getting her caught at long-off.
In the final over, Kerr dismissed Sharma, who was stumped while attempting to maximize runs. She completed her five-wicket haul on the last delivery, getting Sophie Ecclestone out to finish with figures of 5/38 from her four overs.
Grace Harris (UP Warriorz) – 4/15 vs Delhi Capitals
Early in the WPL 2025 season, Delhi Capitals faced UP Warriorz in the 8th game, chasing a stiff target of 177 set by the Warriorz. Along with Kranti Goud’s crucial early wickets, it was veteran Australian all-rounder Grace Harris who delivered the knockout blow.
Harris first struck in the 14th over, dismissing Annabel Sutherland, who was caught at extra cover by Deepti Sharma. The catch was reviewed by the third umpire but was ruled clean.
In the final over, Harris etched her name into the WPL record books by taking the third-ever hat-trick in WPL history, and the first of WPL 2025. She dismissed Niki Prasad, who was caught at midwicket, followed by Arundhati Reddy, who sliced a full toss to cover. Harris completed her hat-trick by removing Minnu Mani, holding onto a return catch to wrap up the innings. She finished with figures of 4/15 from 2.3 overs.
Kranti Goud (UP Warriorz) – 4/25 vs Delhi Capitals
Playing her debut season in WPL 2025, young seamer Kranti Goud delivered her best performance in the same game where Grace Harris claimed her hat-trick. Goud’s first wicket was Delhi skipper Meg Lanning, who was bowled by a sharp delivery that crashed into the stumps.
She followed it up by dismissing Shafali Verma, who tried to charge down the track and clear the ropes. Goud smartly adjusted her length, and Verma could only sky it to Saima Thakor, who juggled before completing the catch. Goud then dismissed Jess Jonassen, who mistimed a big shot, resulting in a catch to Goud herself.
Her fourth wicket was Jemimah Rodrigues, who was well-set at 56. Rodrigues attempted to go over extra cover but ended up slicing it to Deepti Sharma at mid-off. Goud finished with figures of 4/25, including 14 dot balls, in a match-defining spell.
Jess Jonassen (Delhi Capitals) – 4/31 vs UP Warriorz
Australian spinner Jess Jonassen put in a stellar bowling performance for Delhi Capitals. After dismissing openers early, Warriorz captain Deepti Sharma promoted herself to No. 3 but failed to clear deep square leg, handing an easy catch to Niki Prasad.
Jonassen struck again soon after, sending back compatriot Tahlia McGrath, who came down the track but failed to clear long-on. Later, tasked with finishing the innings on a high, Jonassen dismissed Sophie Ecclestone off the first ball of the final over, thanks to another catch at deep square leg. She ended her spell by removing Chinelle Henry on the last ball, finishing with figures of 4/31—Delhi’s best bowling performance of the season.
Kashvee Gautam (Gujarat Giants) – 3/11 vs UP Warriorz
As the league entered its business end, Gujarat Giants were fighting for a playoff spot. After posting a formidable 186/5, courtesy of a brilliant 96* from Beth Mooney, it was Indian spinner Kashvee Gautam who delivered with the ball.
Opening the bowling, Gautam struck in her second over, knocking over Dinesh Vrinda’s stumps. In her second spell, she dismissed Uma Chetry, who attempted to clear a full-length delivery but hit it straight to backward point. Gautam then removed Gouher Sultana on the very next ball, a perfect-length delivery that nicked to Mooney behind the stumps.
Gautam finished with figures of 3/11 from her three overs as the Giants secured a massive 81-run victory, moving to second place in the table at the time.
