The UP Warriorz have struggled to gain traction and have had another uneven season. They lost their opening two games, first by six wickets to Gujarat Giants and then by seven wickets to Delhi Capitals. They then recovered, defeating Delhi by 33 runs and the Challengers in an exciting Super Over match. However, they failed to continue in the momentum, suffering a heavy 81-run loss to Gujarat Giants and most recently to Mumbai by six wickets.

After successfully chasing down a record 201 against Gujarat and thrashing Delhi by eight wickets, RCB started the season with two resounding wins. But they lost four straight games as their form declined sharply. They first lost to Mumbai Indians by four wickets, then lost a thrilling Super Over game to UP Warriorz, and also suffered a defeat at the hands of Gujarat. In their most recent match, they were totally outplayed by Delhi, losing by nine wickets, demonstrating their ongoing difficulties.

Head-to-Head:

The Challengers hold a 3-2 overall lead in this competitive head-to-head matchup between these two teams. Both teams won one game apiece in the 2023 WPL, but the Challengers dominated in 2024 with two victories. Their first meeting this season was a nail-biter, with UP Warriorz winning in the Super Over. Ellyse Perry scored a vital 90* to help RCB to a solid total of 180/6. With a quickfire 33 off 19 balls, Sophie Ecclestone helped UP Warriorz match the total. UPW scored eight runs in the Super Over, and Ecclestone’s outstanding bowling then held RCB to only four, resulting in a thrilling victory.
