Danni Wyatt-Hodge, the dynamic English top-order batter, has embraced a new chapter in her career with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). Despite being part of UP Warriorz in the 2024 season, she didn’t get a chance to take the field. However, her long-standing admiration for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally paid off when she was traded to the team in October 2024.

Since then, Wyatt has featured in six games for RCB in WPL 2025, accumulating 137 runs, with a notable 57-run knock against her former team, UP Warriorz.
In a recent episode of the RCB Insider show, Danni Wyatt sat down with the team’s beloved fun character, Mr. Nags, played by Danish Sait. The entertaining video shared by the team offered a glimpse into Wyatt’s personality, as she opened up about her trade to RCB, her deep-rooted fandom for the team, and even shared some laughs about pranks, crocodiles and more.
Mr. Nags started off by asking Danni the reason behind her decision to join RCB and not any other team. “Because I got traded,” she said with a laugh, before adding, “I’ve been a fan of RCB since it first started, because RCB always had the best players – Virat (Kohli), Maxwell (Glenn Maxwell), AB (Devilliers)… so yeah, now to be playing for RCB is a dream come true.”
The conversation took a humorous turn when Mr. Nags brought up Danni’s trade from UP Warriorz to RCB. Danni acknowledged being part of the first-ever trade in the WPL. Mr. Nags jokingly teased her about being traded, asking how bad she must have been. Danni revealed that she didn’t play a single match for UP Warriorz, and her role was mostly limited to off-field activities. When asked which she enjoyed more, doing ads or carrying drinks, Danni said with a laugh, “Doing ads.”
Mr. Nags then offered to spill some team secrets, Danni took advantage of the offer, asking about potential pranksters in the team, and Mr. Nags warned her to be cautious around Smriti Mandhana. Danni jokingly said, “I reckon if she can hide my bags.” However, Mr. Nags took it to the next level, saying, “She can hide you if she wants and not make you a part of the playing 11,” laughing and adding, “She can play pranks with people’s careers.”
The lighthearted chat wrapped up with Mr. Nags and Danni Wyatt discussing the crocodiles outside their hotel. Danni, in a hilarious moment, broke into a David Attenborough-esque commentary, describing the crocodile in a mock-serious tone.
RCB is looking to bounce back from a tough streak, having lost four matches in a row at their home ground in Bengaluru. With their next two matches crucial for making it to the playoffs, the team will be counting on opener Danni Wyatt to deliver a match-winning performance.
Their next match is against UP Warriorz on 8th March at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, and fans and management alike will be hoping that Wyatt can score some crucial runs to turn the tide in RCB’s favor.
