The M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru witnessed an absolute bonanza as West-Indian Chinelle Henry put on a breathtaking display of power-hitting in the 8th match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz.

Walking in when her team was in shallow waters, Henry turned the game on its head with a sensational knock of 62 runs off just 23 deliveries, hammering 8 sixes and 2 fours. It was a performance to remember—an exhibition of sheer dominance that reaffirmed why she is regarded as one of the most authoritative and peerless batters in women’s cricket today.
Indian legend Mithali Raj applauded Chinelle Henry for her blazing knock and had words of appreciation for the way she molded the innings with a fine knock, during a situation when her team could’ve easily folded for an under-par score.
“She backed herself to play those aggressive shots. At that stage, with six or seven wickets already down, she knew there was nothing to lose. She decided to go big and play her natural game, showcasing that signature West Indian flair for hitting big sixes,” Mithali said, on Jio Hotstar.
Henry was the pivotal cog behind the Warriorz’s supreme 33-run triumph over the Capitals on Saturday. The explosive Jamaican all-rounder put up a thunderous performance, blazing her way to 62 runs off just 23 deliveries, which featured two fours and eight mammoth sixes. Her sturdy show powered UP Warriorz to a competitive total of 177/9.
Henry’s impact wasn’t confined to her batting prowess—she also made an impact with the ball, dismissing Marizanne Kapp at a crucial moment. Her exceptional all-round display played a key role in helping UP Warriorz open their account in the third season.
In just her third outing in the Women’s Premier League (WPL), youngster Kranti Goud of the UP Warriorz made a defining impact with the ball – a classic spell of 4/25. Meanwhile, Grace Harris stole the show with a hat-trick—the first of the season.
