The ninth match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 will see table-toppers and defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru face the struggling UP Warriorz, who with just one win so far, are placed fourth. The match will be held at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on February 24 at 7:30 PM IST.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru began their campaign with a record-breaking chase of 202 against Gujarat Giants, led by Ellyse Perry’s brilliant half-century and finished in style by Richa Ghosh and Kanika Ahuja. A strong bowling display and Smriti Mandhana’s commanding 81 in a modest chase of 142 against Delhi Capitals secured their second win. However, Bengaluru’s hopes for a hat-trick of wins were dashed when a batting collapse, barring Ellyse Perry’s masterful 81, left them unable to defend 168 against Mumbai Indians.
UP Warriorz had a dismal start, losing to Gujarat Giants by six wickets after a lackluster batting performance restricted them to 143. Against Delhi Capitals, their batting improved, but sloppy fielding led to a seven-wicket loss. In their rematch against the Capitals, Chinelle Henry’s explosive 62 off 23 powered them to 177, while Kranti Goud and Grace Harris shared four-wicket hauls to bundle Delhi out for 144. Harris’ effort included a hat-trick, making her the third player in WPL history to achieve the feat.
Head-to-Head:
In their four meetings, Bengaluru leads with three wins. UP Warriorz started strong with a victory in their debut WPL match but have struggled since, including a narrow two-run loss last season. With their first win of the season under their belt, the Warriorz will aim to even the score against Bengaluru. This clash promises high stakes as both teams look to build momentum in WPL 2025.
