The Women’s Premier League (WPL) has been making headlines and garnering attention for its high-quality cricket and unique blend of entertainment. With the new season in full swing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is trying its best to ensure that they provide the fans with some musical entertainment along with the enthralling cricket.

To facilitate more footfall and attract fans, a new mid-innings show has been launched, wherein popular Indian artists are invited every day to perform during the mid-innings.
This concept was launched during the Vadodara leg of the tournament as the organisers did away with the concept of an opening ceremony inviting popular artists Ayushmaan Khurana and Madhubanti Bagchi to grace the stage. The Vadodara leg also included performances by singers such as Dhvani Bhanushali and Kinjal Dave.
The Bengaluru leg of the tournament, all set to begin on 21st February promises to up the thrill, with a stellar line-up of performers including big names such as Shruti Haasan, Sukriti-Prakriti, Aastha Gill, Bhoomi Trivedi, Zahrah Khan and Vaani Kapoor.
The Vadodara leg was not just about entertainment; it also delivered some thrilling cricketing action. The season opener saw RCB chase down a target of 202, with a dazzling display of boundaries from both Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants. The second match was equally nail-biting, with Delhi Capitals defeating Mumbai Indians by two wickets on the last ball. The subsequent matches saw a mix of high-scoring and low-scoring thrillers, with the last match going down to the wire, ending on the penultimate ball.
As the Bengaluru leg kicks off on February 21 with the highly anticipated clash between Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, fans can expect more edge-of-the-seat action. The iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium is known for producing such nail-biting thrillers.
WPL 2025 will continue to captivate audiences, with the Lucknow leg scheduled to begin on March 3, promising to deliver more electrifying performances. The Ekana Stadium in Lucknow will play the host to some of the most interesting matches.
As the tournament reaches its climax, the final Mumbai leg will kick off on March 10 also hosting the play-off and final, bringing the best of women’s cricket to the cricket-loving city.
