Scottish wicket-keeper batter, Sarah Bryce made her mark on WPL debut as she scored a quickfire 21(10), stitching a match-winning partnership with fellow Delhi Capitals teammate Niki Prasad.
Post the victory, Bryce’s parents who attended the game, gave insights into their daughters cricketing and WPL journey.

Talking about Sarah’s excitement upon being picked up, “She was so delighted to hear that she had been picked up in the auction and she’s had a great time so far, everybody’s really friendly and she’s really settling in, so that’s been great,” said Bryce’s mother as she also highlighted how welcoming the DC family has been in ensuring the smooth transition into the tournament.
Her father spoke about his excitement seeing his daughter perform, “I’m just thrilled that she’s playing, and she’s had a really good game so far and I really hope the Delhi Capitals can go on to win it this year,” said her father with utmost excitement and joy as he praised his daughter’s performance.
Her parents also gave their daughter a few words of wisdom, “and for Sarah just enjoy the experience, learn lots, it’s the first time you played in India and first WPL, really just go for it and enjoy it,” said her mother as the video ended with her parents wishing the best to the team.
With the Capitals faltering to cross the finish line for the last two editions, it seems like Bryce may be one of the pieces of the solved puzzle.
On the match front, Mumbai, batting first, leaned on Nat Sciver-Brunt’s unbeaten 80 off 59 and Harmanpreet Kaur’s 42 off 22 to post 164. Annabel Sutherland (3/34) and Shikha Pandey (2/14) kept Mumbai in check.
In reply, Shafali Verma’s explosive 43 off 18 gave Delhi a fiery start, while Niki Prasad anchored with a crucial 35(33). Sarah Bryce’s cameo (21 off 10) and Radha Yadav’s late strike narrowed the chase. Arundhati Reddy held her nerve on the final ball, securing a thrilling two-wicket win.
