The Women’s Premier League (WPL), which combines top foreign players with up-and-coming Indian talent, has quickly grown into one of the most exciting and competitive venues in women’s cricket. The UP Warriorz have made a name for themselves among the five teams by having a strong spin attack and a depth of all-round players.

The Australian leg-spinner Alana King and the Indian all-rounder Kranti Goud are two new additions to the Warriorz’s team as they make their WPL debut. The unique qualities that these individuals contribute improve the team’s balance and adaptability.
Alana King
After being roped in for INR 30 lakh during the WPL players auction, the 29-year-old Australian leg-spinner debuted for the UP Warriorz in their season opener. King, who was born in Melbourne to Indian parents from Chennai, most recently played a significant role in Australia’s Ashes triumph and is a true match-winner.
She joins Deepti Sharma and Sophie Ecclestone as a strong spin trio, adding depth to UP Warriorz’ already dominating spin attack. She has taken 24 wickets in 25 Twenty20 Internationals and batted with a strike rate of 90.32. King has tied Ashleigh Gardner’s record for most wickets in a multi-format Ashes series with 23 in seven games during the 2025 Ashes. After winning Player of the Series, she now hopes to contribute experience and take wickets in her WPL debut.
Kranti Goud
Born on August 11, 2003, Kranti Goud, a 22-year-old Madhya Pradesh player, was secured for INR 10 lakhs for the 2025 WPL and is ready to make an impression for the UP Warriorz. She is a medium pacer who adds depth to UPW’s bowling by swinging the ball efficiently and knocking batters with precise bouncers. She is also an excellent all-around asset due to her effortless ability to clear the ropes.
With 17 wickets, including a game-winning 4/25 in the final against Bengal, she was instrumental in Madhya Pradesh’s victory in the 2024 Senior Women’s One Day Cup. Kranti, who was a net bowler for the Mumbai Indians in 2024, is ready to show off her skills on the WPL stage and get some valuable experience.
