In the inaugural match of Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, Gujarat Giants are throwing caution to the wind by introducing not one, not two, but five debutants- Priya Mishra, Kashvee Gautam, Sayali Satghare, Deandra Dottin and Simran Shaikh in their playing eleven against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who also had 3 debutants.

Priya Mishra:
Priya, a 20 year old leg break googly bowler, is making her debut for Gujarat Giants in the third edition of WPL. She has already taken her first steps in international cricket, debuting for India in 2024 against New Zealand and recently featuring in the series against Ireland. In just nine ODIs, the youngster has picked up 15 wickets. She is definitely a player to watch out for in the tournament.
Kashvee Gautam:
Kashvee Gautam, a talented bowler is all set to make her mark for Gujarat Giants. She rose to fame with a sensational ten wicket haul in an Under-19 Match, playing for Chandigarh. She was picked up for INR 2 crore ahead of WPL 2024, but was ruled out of the season due to an injury. With a strong comeback in the Senior Women’s One Day Challenger Trophy where she took seven wickets in six matches, she is now focused on delivering match-winning performances for Gujarat Giants.
Sayali Satghare:
Sayali Satghare, the seam bowling all-rounder has made her debut for Gujarat Giants. She plays for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. She recently made her international debut for India in the ODI series against Ireland, where she picked up three wickets. In 2024, she joined Gujarat Giants as a replacement for injured Kashvee Gautam. Interestingly, she made an appearance for Gujarat in WPL 2024, coming in as a concussion substitute for D. Hemalatha in their clash against Delhi Capitals.
Deandra Dottin:
Deandra Dottin, an experienced West Indian all-rounder brings her explosive batting and versatile skills to Gujarat Giants. Picked up by Gujarat Giants for 1.70 crore ahead of WPL 2025, her international records are impressive. With 71 wickets and 3004 runs in her T20I Career, she is a seasoned player. Notably, she became the first woman to score a T20I century during a World T20 match against South Africa in 2010. She also won a WBBL title with Melbourne Renegades. Her experience will surely bolster Gujarat Giants’ lineup.
Simran Shaikh:
Simran, a 23-year old middle order batter, is debuting for Gujarat in the WPL. Simran was part of the UP Warriorz squad in WPL 2023, where she scored 29 runs in seven innings. However, they released her next season owing to her poor performance where she went unsold. However, she was purchased for 1.90 crore by Gujarat Giants ahead of WPL 2025. Simran will be eager to repay the trust that Gujarat has shown in her.
