As they prepare to take the field, excitement is apparent among players and supporters alike. With a strong squad led by captain Ashleigh Gardner, the team is determined to make a mark this season and erase the disappointments of their past two campaigns with a convincing performance.

Ahead of their debut at home, Gujarat Giants players had the opportunity of meeting Maharani Radhikaraje Gaekwad, Maharani of Baroda at the legendary Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara. A champion of women’s empowerment, Maharani Radhikaraje extended her support to the team, expressing her views on the rich cricketing history of Vadodara.

The players, skipper Ashleigh Gardner, Kashvee Gautam, Phoebe Litchfield, and Deandra Dottin were accompanied by bowling coach Pravin Tambe and Adani Sportsline’s Chief Business Officer, Mr. Sanjay Adesara.

Additionally, they visited Gazra Cafe, an initiative by Shri Maharani Chimnabai Stree Udyogalaya (MCSU). Established in 1914 by Maharani Chimnabai II, MCSU has long focused on empowering women through education and skill development, specifically in areas such as handicrafts and embroidery. The cafe, run by members of the LGBTQ+ community, stands as a testament to inclusivity and empowerment.

During the visit, an engaging discussion took place between the players and Maharani Radhikaraje, who has a long-standing passion for cricket. As a token of gratitude, captain Ashleigh Gardner presented her with a Gujarat Giants jersey, symbolizing the bond between the team and the city.
