As the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 nears, the excitement for the biggest and grandest women’s cricket league has also been rising. With only days left before the girls take the field, Delhi Capitals shared a fun video with their star batter Jemimah Rodrigues talking about the music talents of her Capitals teammates.

Jemimah was asked if she and her teammates would establish a band and who would play different roles. Her light-hearted reaction demonstrated the strong bond among the Capitals squad and was full of inside jokes and fun.
Rodrigues shared that she would be playing the guitar given how well-known her passion for music is among fans, it was only right that she would be included in the core. She shared; Scottish keeper-batter Sarah Bryce would be on the Piano.
Rodrigues further shared that it would be a tough competition between Arundhati Reddy and Marizanne Kapp for who the drummer would be depending on the “tunes” they perform. Accompanying her on the Guitar will be the seasoned Australian all-rounder, Jess Jonassen.
Radha Yadav, the young Indian left-arm spinner was singled out by Rodrigues as the dancer for the band. Radha’s response was priceless; she responded, “Thanks,” while maintaining a straight face, which added to the moment’s humor.
“I would have Radha as a dancer. Just in the corner, just for pure entertainment.”
She shared that she would name the band, ‘DC Mitra Mandal’ (Delhi Capitals Friends Group)!
This entire conversation not only demonstrated the team’s unity but also served as more evidence that teams are families that bond over little things, laugh together and make memories off the cricket pitch.
The Delhi Capitals are a team to watch on and off the pitch because of their contagious energy in the locker room, which they will undoubtedly carry onto the pitch.
We don’t know about when we will get to see DC Mitra Mandal in action, but the Delhi Capitals squad will be in action on the field on February 15, 2025, as they kick off their WPL 2025 campaign against Mumbai Indians, at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara at 19:30 IST.
