The WPL final presented a historic moment for the Royal Challengers Bangalore as they had never clinched the championship in either the 16 years of the Indian Premier League or the Women’s Premier League, setting the stage for a new chapter in the franchise history, with the Royal Challengers Bangalore women earning their maiden title. In a display of sheer brilliance in the Women’s Premier League, Ellyse Perry wowed everyone with her all-around skill as she led Royal Challengers Bangalore to victory with a series of commendable performances. Perry’s outstanding bat and ball skills have greatly contributed to her team’s success as she took the first WPL 6-fer and took charge of her team’s batting. She also earned honors, such as the Orange Cap for scoring 347 runs, the most this season.
Ellyse Perry was a major contributor to the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women’s run for championship glory and blew away spectators with her extraordinary skills.
To honor the star all-rounder’s undefeated performance that helped the home team win its first Women’s Premier League title and the franchise’s first-ever championship win across leagues on 17th March against the Delhi Capitals, supporters of Royal Challengers Bangalore, also known as the 12th man army, have proposed renaming a landmark in Bengaluru after Ellyse Perry.
Following the Orange Cap winner’s resolute innings of unbeaten 35 runs of 37 balls in the low-scoring thriller played out at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the streets of Bengaluru erupted in celebration of the 8-wicket win overnight. Fans called for the creation of an Ellyse Perry Circle or an Ellyse Perry Road on social media. Bengaluru city has a custom of renaming landmarks in honor of notable people, including athletes. Anil Kumble Circle was the previous name of the Oriental Circle on MG Road, given by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
We need Ellyse Perry circle in Bangalore.
