She dismantled Mumbai’s batting with figures of 6 wickets against 15 runs in her spell of 4 overs and contributed 40 runs including five boundaries and a maximum with the bat. Bangalore sealed the win with seven wickets and five overs to spare, joining Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals in the playoffs.

Smriti reached the 400 mark

She struggled to convert her starts last season, managing only 149 runs last season. However, in this edition, she has already accumulated 259 runs, including two half-centuries, with 80 runs being her highest score. Though she departed cheaply scoring 11 runs in the last match of the league stage, she became the fourth Indian to surpass the 400-run mark in the WPL.

Bangalore Qualify for playoffs

Following UP Warriorz’s defeat, the Gujarat Giants and the Royal Challengers Bangalore were both competing for a spot in the playoffs as were the Warriorz. However, Bangalore’s 7-wicket triumph against the Mumbai Indians secured them a place in the playoffs. Fans were delighted to see their team qualify, as they couldn’t manage to do so in the first edition.
