Despite losing Shafali Verma and Meg Lanning in quick intervals, Alice Capsey and Jemimah Rodrigues built a formidable 97-run partnership. The Royals chase began with Sophie Molineux and skipper Smriti Mandhana, but early setbacks saw Mandhana depart in the second over. Ellyse Perry and Molineux steadied the run chase with a crucial 80-run partnership, later Sophie Devine and Richa Gosh built their 49-run partnership. Despite Gosh’s 51-run innings, Bangalore fell short by just 1 run, ending at 180 for 7. Jemimah Rodrigues’ stellar innings earned her the Player of the Match accolade as Delhi Capitals secured a playoff spot with this victory.

In addition to her outstanding performance, she was observed consoling the opposing team’s player, Richa Ghosh, at the end of the match. She reassured Richa, expressing the importance of her presence in the upcoming World Cup. Fans were deeply moved by Jemimah’s compassionate gesture.

Shreyanka’s 4-fer

After resting for a few matches due to injury and still playing with an injured wrist, she came back strong after a few bad games, taking 4 crucial wickets of Meg Lanning, Jemimah Rodrigues, Alice Capsey, and Jess Jonassen. The latter three were dismissed in her last two overs, during the death overs. Fans praised her for such an exceptional bowling spell.

 

Richa Gosh’s exceptional efforts

Richa stepped up to bat in the final delivery of the 12th over, forming a vital partnership of 49 runs alongside Sophie Devine. Displaying remarkable skill, she scored 51 runs from 26 balls, including four boundaries and three maximums, achieving an impressive strike rate of 175.86. Her performance fueled hopes for Bangalore’s victory, with only 2 runs needed on the last ball. Unfortunately, she was run out by Jess Jonassen and Shafali Verma, resulting in the Royals’ loss by just one wicket. Despite the defeat, fans applauded her outstanding effort.
