The UP Warriorz led by skipper Alyssa Healy suffered a comprehensive 42-run defeat against Mumbai Indians in their last game. Delhi Capitals led by skipper Meg Lanning are coming off a comprehensive 29-run victory against the defending champions Mumbai Indians. UP Warriorz had a short turn-around time as they had to play against Delhi Capitals within 24 hours, after facing Mumbai Indians in their 6th game of the season on 7th March 2024.

The UP Warriorz skipper Alyssa Healy won the toss and opted to bat first. The UP Warriorz got off to a poor start, losing the wicket of Kiran Navgire in the 2nd over of the innings. Titas Sadhu provided the first breakthrough for Delhi Capitals. Deepti Sharma joined skipper Alyssa Healy at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 46-run partnership for the 2nd wicket before Alice Capsey picked up the big wicket of the opposition skipper Alyssa Healy to provide the 2nd breakthrough for Delhi Capitals.

Tahlia McGrath soon followed her back to the pavilion to provide the 3rd breakthrough for Delhi Capitals. Grace Harris joined Deepti Sharma at the crease and the duo stitched a crucial 33-run partnership for the 4th wicket before Radha Yadav picked up the wicket of Grace Harris to provide the 4th breakthrough for her side. UP Warriorz eventually ended up with a total of 138/8 in their quota of overs.

UP Warriorz lost their last four wickets for just 43 runs. Deepti Sharma (59 off 48 balls), and skipper Alyssa Healy (29 off 30 balls) were the top performers with the bat for UP Warriorz. Radha Yadav (3-0-16-2), and Titas Sadhu (3-0-23-2) were the top performers with the ball for Delhi Capitals. Chasing a tricky total of 139, the Delhi Capitals got off to a steady start before Saima Thakor cleaned up Shafali Verma to provide the first breakthrough for the UP Warriorz.

Jemimah Rodrigues joined skipper Meg Lanning at the crease and the duo stitched a 24-run partnership for the 3rd wicket before Deepti Sharma picked up the massive wicket of the opposition skipper Meg Lanning to provide the 3rd breakthrough for UP Warriorz.

Delhi Capitals suffered a horrible collapse as they lost their last 7 wickets for just 44 runs, as they were eventually bundled out for 137, with one ball to spare. Skipper Meg Lanning (60 off 46 balls), Jemimah Rodrigues (17 off 15 balls), and Jess Jonassen (11 off 5 balls) were the top performers with the bat for Delhi Capitals. Deepti Sharma (4-0-19-4), Sophie Ecclestone (4-0-15-1), and Saima Thakor (4-0-30-2) were the top performers with the ball for UP Warriorz.

Deepti Sharma was awarded the Player of the Match for her exceptional all-round performance, scoring (59 off 48 balls) with the bat and returning with exceptional match figures (4-0-19-4) with the ball. She played a pivotal role in helping the UP Warriorz get back to winning ways.
