The UP Warriorz led by skipper Alyssa Healy have collaborated with Navya Naveli Nanda, a social media sensation and the grand-daughter of one of the most iconic personalities of the Indian film industry Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and the daughter of Shweta Bachchan and Nikhil Nanda. The main motive of the collaboration is to ensure a safe digital space for women athletes to combat trolls regarding the players on various social media platforms.

The campaign is named as the “Trash Talk Clean Up” campaign. “I am delighted to partner with UP Warriorz, a team that resonates with our mission at Project Naveli. Together, we hope to make a substantial impact in promoting mental health, entrepreneurship among women, and ensuring a respectful and safe online environment for female athletes.” Navya Naveli Nanda is delighted to collaborate with UP Warriorz with an aim to empower women and promote mental health.

The 2nd edition of the WPL will commence on 23rd February 2024 which is just a few days away. The teams will come into the new season with a rejuvenated approach with the inclusion of fresh faces in every squad. Most of the teams have owned a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The UP Warriorz being a completely new franchise, unlike the other teams, have commenced their journey to build their own fan base.

The UP Warriorz led by skipper Alyssa Healy qualified for the playoffs courtesy of their top-three finish with 8 points from 4 games. However, they were knocked out courtesy of a massive 72-run defeat against the Mumbai Indians in the inaugural edition of the WPL. According to a recent world athletics study, 87% of female athletes are subjected to abuse on social media platforms and 50% of them are more likely to encounter abuse based on their physical appearance, and their personal lives making their performances on the field, go under the carpet.
