Replacements for injured Kashvee Gautam and Kanika Ahuja announced

Gujarat Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore have announced replacements for the upcoming second edition of the TATA Women’s Premier League (WPL). Rising star Kashvee Gautam, the most expensive uncapped Indian player in WPL history, will miss the tournament due to injury.

The Gujarat Giants, who initially secured Kashvee’s services for INR 2 crore, have selected Sayali Sathgare from Mumbai as her replacement, signing her at a reserve price of INR 10 lakhs.

Meanwhile, India all-rounder Kanika Ahuja is also sidelined from WPL 2024 due to injury. In response, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have chosen Shraddha Pokharkar, a left-arm fast bowler from Maharashtra, as her replacement, securing her at a reserve price of INR 10 lakhs.

Kashvee Gautam, the young uncapped player with the highest bid in the WPL 2024 auction has been ruled out of the WPL 2024 season because of an injury. An unfortunate setback for the Gujarat Giants who bought her at a record-breaking bid of 2 crores at the auction. The Gujarat Giants have announced a replacement for Kashvee Gautam and availed the services of Sayali Satghare from Mumbai for the upcoming WPL 2024 season at a reserve price of INR 10 Lakhs.

Sayali has an intriguing all-around record in the domestic circuit scalping 8 wickets in 10 games averaging 22.87 at an economy of 5.90 in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy whereas 6 wickets in 5 games in The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal T20 Trophy at an amazing economy of 4.94 and averaging just below 15. She has also shown all-round form in The Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy chipping in with 10 wickets in 6 innings at an average of 13.10 and Economy of 3.31 along with some batting form scoring 260 runs in 7 games at an average of 52.00. Seeing the current all-round performances and the talent shown by Sayali, she could be a favorable replacement for the Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2024.

Who is Shraddha Pokharkar?

Kanika Ahuja, an all-round sensation for the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women who have recently debuted for India has been ruled out of the WPL 2024 because of an injury for whom the RCB Women has announced a replacement in the form of Shradda Pokharkar, a promising left-arm fast bowler from Maharashtra who have performed well in the domestic One-Day tournaments with 18 wickets in just 8 outings at an average of 11.72 and economy of 3.66 with a 4-wicket and a 5-wicket haul each, and also being the 2nd highest wicket-taker in the tournament and adding upto scalp 6 wickets in as many matches in The Senior Women’s Inter Zonal One-Day Trophy. She can turn out to be a key replacement for the RCB Women with the addition of a left-arm fast angle to her skills and getting an opportunity she would be looking forward keenly to performing well in the WPL 2024 season.
