The veteran spinner hailing from Uttar Pradesh made her debut for India against Bangladesh in 2013. In her prime Poonam Yadav was a force to be reckoned with, known for her ability to bowl the traditional leg spin delivery as well as the wrong-un (googly).
Since her debut in 2013, Poonam Yadav has played 72 T20Is and is one of the most experienced players in the Delhi Capital’s dugout. Across her T20I career, Poonam has accounted for 98 wickets at an astonishing average of 15.25. She was also a part of India’s dream run in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020, where India fell short against Australia in the final.
In the previous edition of the WPL Poonam Yadav wasn’t the first-choice spinner in the Delhi Capital’s lineup. Having featured in just the 3 games last season, she is yet to open her wickets account in the WPL. She will be eager to take the field and be the version of herself that scared batters of every team.
