Fatima Jaffer, the niece of renowned Mumbai and India opener Wasim Jaffer was acquired by the Mumbai Indians WPL side in the auction that concluded in December of 2023. The ambidextrous bowler who is known for her left-arm orthodox bowling is also a beyond capable right-arm medium pacer. Apart from her skills as a bowler, Fatima is handy with the bat too, contributing crucial runs lower down the order.
Fatima represented the reputed Rizvi Springfield who have produced several renowned cricketers who have replaced Mumbai at the domestic circuit and eventually represented the Indian Cricket Team. She was just 13 years old when she was picked to represent the Mumbai under-19 side in the West Zone one-day league in Rajkot. She now represents the Mumbai Women’s senior team. She claimed 12 wickets in 10 games in the latest edition of the Women’s Senior T20 Trophy. She played a pivotal role in Mumbai’s victory in the tournament as she played a crucial role with the bat scoring crucial runs in the middle order.
