Star Australian pacer Mitchell Starc was in attendance at DY Patil Stadium on October 30, cheering on his wife Alyssa Healy and the Australian women’s team as they faced the hosts India in a high-stakes semifinal of the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup. True to form, Starc has made it his mission to be present at all of Healy’s knockout games, provided he is not engaged in his own cricket commitments.

Starc himself has been fresh off a strong outing against India in a recent three-match ODI series, where he took three wickets across the matches. Having stepped away from T20 Internationals, his focus now shifts to the upcoming Ashes series scheduled to begin on November 21 at Optus Stadium.
The couple’s story is one of a cricketing powerhouse pair—Starc and Healy got engaged ten years ago and tied the knot in April 2016. They hold the rare distinction of being only the third married couple ever to play Test cricket, following the English Prideauxs and the Sri Lankan de Alwis pair, and notably, both share the same highest score or 99.
One notable moment in their support history came in March 2020 when Starc returned home early from South Africa to watch Healy play in the final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. Australia clinched the title with a win over India in front of a sold-out Melbourne crowd, however, this time Healy’s innings ended early, bowled out by rookie Indian pacer Kranti Gaud after scoring five runs from 15 balls.
Defending champions Australia looked unstoppable after Phoebe Litchfield’s commanding 119 and Ellyse Perry’s 77 lifted them to 338 at DY Patil Stadium. But India’s bowlers, led by youngster N. Sree Charani (2/49), showed resolve to contain the damage in the final overs.
In reply, Jemimah Rodrigues (127*) and captain Harmanpreet Kaur (89) orchestrated a flawless chase, steering India to 341/5 and ending Australia’s 15-match World Cup streak. A night of redemption sends India into a historic final against South Africa.
