One of the most exciting inclusions is Eyman Fatima, an uncapped batter in ODIs who recently broke into the international scene during Pakistan’s T20I series in Ireland. Her domestic form speaks volumes: she was a standout performer in Pakistan’s National T20 tournament earlier in May, earning her rightful place in the squad.

On the domestic front, she continues to command attention: in List A cricket, Eyman has amassed 506 runs in 17 matches at an average of 31.61, including 2 centuries and a high score of 141, a sign of her ability to convert starts into significant innings.

In August 2025, she earned a place in Pakistan’s central contracts for the 2025–26 season, being listed in Category E (Emerging).

Joining Eyman for their maiden ODI World Cup appearances are several other promising talents: Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sadia Iqbal, and Syeda Aroob Shah. This injection of new blood signals a vision for the future of Pakistan women’s cricket.

Pakistan secured their place at the World Cup by topping the table at the Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in April, remaining undefeated and delivering notable wins over West Indies and Bangladesh. They are scheduled to play all their fixtures at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo.

Gull Feroza and Najiha Alvi, who were part of Pakistan’s Qualifier campaign, have been named among the travelling reserves for the World Cup, alongside Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, and Waheeda Akhtar.

Before the tournament, the same squad will take on South Africa in a three-match ODI series in Lahore from 16–22 September. To prepare, the 15 players and five reserves will assemble for a 14-day training camp starting Friday, 29 August, under head coach Muhammad Wasim. The camp will include practice sessions and 50-over match simulations.

The ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 will run from 30 September to 2 November, with Pakistan opening their campaign against Bangladesh on 2 October.

Eyman Fatima’s inclusion in the Women’s World Cup 2025 squad, coupled with her recent central contract in the Emerging category, underlines Pakistan’s faith in nurturing young talent. As she takes her next steps on the global stage, all eyes will be on how the promising batter translates potential into performance.
