Chanida Sutthiruang- Thailand bowler continued to dominate with the ball in this series as she picked a 3 for against one of the toughest teams Ireland.
Suleeporn Laomi- The young leg spinner from Thailand amazed everyone with her leg-spin bowling as she put the brakes of Ireland from chasing the target.
Sutthiruang and Laomi 3 fer’s took away the game from Ireland in a close encounter resulting in Thailand qualify for knockout stages of the tournament at Dundee on Monday.
Winning the toss, Ireland decided to bowl as the match was shortened to 17 over one due to Rain. Thailand batters did not score much except the opener Chaiwai who scored 24 being the top scorer of the team, The young wicket-keeper batter Nannapat helped her with 16 runs. The young bowler from Ireland Leah Paul picked 3 wickets with an economy rate of just 3.3 in 3 overs. In the end, Thailand ended up the inning with 92 on the board losing 7 wickets
Chasing, Ireland did not have great of the starts as they lost wickets in tandem, they were struggling at 26 for 3 inside the power-play, the same story continued after the power-play too, no batter stood in the crease for much time, it was only the bowling All-rounder Richardson played cameo of 21, which helped Ireland to end the innings at 90 for 9 in 17 overs.they were short by 2 runs. With the bowl, it was again Sutthiruang and supporting her young leg spinner Naomi was excellent with the ball picking 3 wickets each.
Both teams have reached the knockout stages of the tournament. Ireland will be playing Bangladesh and Thailand will be playing Papua New Guinea in Semifinals.
