India had a roller coaster ride in the first match against Australia. The contest opener was a low scoring affair where India emerged as winners, starting off their campaign on a positive note.

On the other side while fielding, India’s ace opener Smriti Mandhana was seen injured on the shoulder after her brilliant efforts near the boundary to save runs. In the run chase of 132 runs, Australia’s Alyssa Healy stroked a shot through cover, Smriti pushed the ball of the boundary to save runs but crashed herself on the hoardings, she injured her left shoulder although the physio was immediately on the field to aid her and she continued fielding but walked off at the end for further care and treatment.

Mandhana is ranked No.4 on the MRF Tyres ICC Women’s T20I Rankings for batting and is a crucial player for the women in blue, For now, the extent or exact nature of the injury remains unclear, but hopefully, we wish the Injury not to be a big deal and wish Mandhana a quick recovery and look forward to seeing her hit in the next match.
