After Adelaide Strikers skipper Amanda-Jade Wellington won the toss and sent the opposition into bat, the Perth Scorchers opening duo hit the ground running with an explosive start. Katie Mack and Ines McKeon launched a fierce assault during the mandatory powerplay, guiding their team to a dominant 65 runs inside the first six overs.
The pair forged a destructive 84-run opening partnership off just 43 balls before Amanda-Jade Wellington got the first breakthrough in the 8th over, having Mack stumped by Kate Peterson for a fiery 51 off 28 balls (7 fours, 1 six) at 84/1. The match reached its climax through a sensational late counter-attack by Madeline Penna and wicketkeeper-batter Kate Peterson.
