Eight spirited teams, Japan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Samoa in Group A, alongside the Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, and Vanuatu in Group B, will battle not just for pride and regional supremacy but also for the coveted ticket to the Global Qualifier, the final gateway to the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

With cricket continuing to grow rapidly in the East Asia-Pacific region, this tournament represents both a celebration of the sport’s expansion and a proving ground for emerging talents ready to stake their claim on the world stage.

Format:

The qualifying event will be contested in a round-robin format, ensuring each team plays every side in its respective group. Group A features Japan, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and Samoa, while Group B brings together the Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, and Vanuatu.

At the conclusion of the group stages, the top two teams from each group will progress towards the semi-finals, before the final showdown that will crown the East Asia-Pacific champion. Only one nation will emerge victorious, securing progression to the Global Qualifier, where the challenge intensifies against teams from around the cricketing world for a spot in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
