The 10th edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to take place in England and Wales in 2026. In the lead-up to that, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed Nepal as the host nation for the 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier. The tournament will run from 12 January to 16 February, with ten teams competing for four spots at the main event in 2026.

Bangladesh and Ireland have secured automatic places in the Qualifier thanks to their appearance in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. Thailand and Nepal booked their spots through the Asia regional pathway, while the USA qualified via the Americas region.
The remaining five spots will be decided through ongoing regional qualifiers, with two teams each coming from Africa and Europe and one from the East Asia-Pacific region.
Rwanda and Sierra Leone have recently progressed to the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier Division 1. Starting on 31 August 2025, a total of 8 teams—Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe—will compete in Namibia for two spots in the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier.
In Europe, Germany, Scotland, Italy, and the Netherlands will play each other in Rotterdam, with two teams advancing to the global qualifier.
The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifier will be hosted by Fiji. The hosts will be joined by Vanuatu, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Japan, Samoa, the Cook Islands, and the Philippines, with all eight teams competing for a single place in the global qualifier.
The Global Qualifier in Nepal will feature 10 teams split into two groups of five, followed by a Super Six stage and a Final. The full tournament schedule will be released in due course.
In the meantime, the ICC has confirmed the dates for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 in England and Wales.
The tournament will run from 12 June to 5 July, with 33 matches taking place over 24 days at seven venues, including Old Trafford, Headingley, the Hampshire Bowl, and Bristol County Ground. The final will be staged at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground.
