Australia who are the six-time World Cup champions won all their 7 matches in the league stage showcasing their dominance. England on the other hand lost their first three matches and then went on to win the next four games in the league stage and qualified for the Semi-Finals. They have played their last 5 matches as a knockout matches.

There are several match-winners in both these teams. In Australia, Alyssa Healy came back to form in the semi-final match against West Indies as she scored a magnificent 129. Meg Lanning, the captain of the Australian team has scored 2 fifties and a century in the tournament. Racheal Haynes, the other opener has been the highest run-scorer for the Aussies in the world cup scoring 429 runs in 8 matches. All the other players have stepped up and have performed their roles perfectly.

England, the defending champions will be looking to win the World Cup for the 2nd time in a row. They have been excellent as a team in the last 5 matches. Sophie Ecclestone is the star of the team as she is the highest wicket-taker in this World Cup picking 20 wickets in 8 matches. She will be coming to the final after a match-winning 6 for 36 against South Africa in the Semi-Finals. Danni Wyatt, the opener also scored a fabulous 129 in the Semi-Final match against South Africa. Nat Sciver, the all-rounder has been consistent with both bat and ball in the tournament. The rest of the side is filled with a mixture of experienced heads like Anya Srubsole, Katherine Brunt, and impressive youths like Sophia Dunkley and Charlie Dean.

Tomorrow’s Final between these two sides will be a great showcase of Women’s Cricket. We can expect a big total on the board as the matches so far at Christchurch have been high-scoring contests. Fans will be expecting to see the final go down to the wire as the nail-biting contests have been a theme of this outstanding tournament. Let us see who will lift the trophy.
