England players move places after successful series – latest ICC Women’s T20I Rankings

England players gain big in ICC rankings after a successful campaign against Pakistan. England whitewashed the T20I series 3-0 over Pakistan in Malaysia. Amy Jones and Sophie Ecclestone were some of the top contributors to their side. They both have moved places as per the latest T20I rankings released by International Cricket Council (ICC).

Spin bowler Sophie Ecclestone and opening batter Amy Jones have attained career highs. Jones jumps 30 places to rank 17 in the batters’ list whereas Ecclestone gains 3 slots to reach number 4. Ecclestone’s rating points are the highest for an England bowler in women’s T20Is since 2016. She is the first bowler to cross 700 points since Anya Shrubsole in 2016.

Amy Jones who was named as the player of the series against Pakistan reached her career-best of 17. Ecclestone’s career-best was rank 3 which she had achieved in February.

Other English players have also moved up the table after a dominant all-round display against Pakistan. Danielle Wyatt achieves her career-best of 12 after moving two places up while Tammy Beaumont and Heather Knight rank 21st and 34th respectively.

Among bowlers, Freya Davies is a big gainer. Davies has climbed 35 places to rank 91st. Natalie Sciver has also moved 5 places to reach the 35th position.

From Pakistan, batter Umaima Sohail has jumped 5 places to reach 59th position while seamer Diana Baig attains career-best of 47th position climbing 16 slots. Both England and Pakistan occupy 2nd and 7th places in the team rankings respectively.

New Zealand batter Suzie Bates continues to top the batters table whereas Australia’s Megan Schutt leads the bowling rankings.
