Summary: Match 39 – Amy Jones and Meg Lanning’s partnership guides Scorchers to 9 Wicket Win over Stars

Another amazing partnership between Lanning and Jones helps Scorchers to win with ease against Stars by 9 wickets.

Lanning on winning the toss opted to field. The openers Lee and Villani finally had a good partnership but at a slower pace. The Scorchers kept things tightly. Villani who struggled early in the competition finally scored 50. She played a knock of 59 runs which helped her team to set a target of 150. Villani got good support from pocket dynamo Du Preez. With the ball, it was Betts who picked up 2 wickets.
Chasing the target of 150, the scorchers were bang on from ball number 1. The openers again had a partnership of 100 plus in this season. The duo had a stand of 147 which was equally contributed by both. Jones scored 70 and Lanning scored 68. Jones got out on 70, whereas Lanning took the team home remaining unbeaten and winning by 9 wickets.
Brief Score: Stars 149 for 6( Villani 59, & Betts 3 for  21) lost to Scorchers 151 for 1 ( Jones 70,Lanning 68* & 1 for 19 Hancock) by 9 wickets.
