Winning the toss, Adelaide opted to bat. Adelaide opening duo of Bates and Devine had a great start to the inning. Suzie Bates played a decent knock of 27, whereas the dashing player Devine scored another half-century of the season. Her knock included 65 runs, which helped Strikers to set a decent total for the chase. With the fall of the openers, the rest of the players did not contribute much. A cameo from Wellington at the end helped Strikers to cross 140 mark as Strikers finished the inning at 141 for 8. With the ball, it was the allrounder, Johnson and Prestwidge bowled well for the Heat.

Chasing the target of 142, Heat had an excellent start to the inning. The opening duo of Harris and Mooney had a partnership of 65 runs. Harris after playing a decent knock of 30 got out to a leg spinner Wellington spooning a catch to Devine. On the other side, Mooney who is in the form of her life played another match-winning inning of unbeaten 77 including 10 boundaries helped Heat to cross the line with ease. Mooney got good support from Jonassen who scored a cameo of 25. On the whole, Heat completed the chase successfully in 17.1 overs.
