Preview

The Melbourne Renegades will take on the Perth Scorchers team at Perth. Perth Scorchers have lost games out of the three they have played so far. While Melbourne Renegades have played four games winning two and losing two. Both the teams will into Friday’s game on the back of a loss. In the previous encounter between these two teams, the Melbourne Renegades got better of Perth Scorchers women’s team beating them by four wickets.

Perth scorchers even after some of the most experienced campaigners have failed to get going in the batting department. They have failed to register a substantial total whenever they have been put in to bat first in this tournament. Perth scorchers were defeated by Adelaide Strikers women with a huge margin chasing down a total of 115 runs inside fifteen overs. Perth Scorchers would hope for their batting order to come into form going ahead in this tournament.

Melbourne Renegades lost a close game against the Sydney Thunder women’s team, where the Renegades batting lineup fell short by three runs in the chase of 132 runs. In the chase, they lost four wickets upfront but then made up for the loss of early wickets with a strong 88 runs fifth-wicket partnership between Jessica Duffin ( 69 off 56 balls) and Courtney Webb (32 off 29 balls). But in the end, fell short by three runs when both the set batters were out in the span of five balls at the fag end of the innings. They wouldn’t be too worried about the loss and would look to correct the mistakes they are making.

Weather and Pitch Report

The weather forecast for the match on Friday doesn’t seem to be all that bright. Some Showers are anticipated (Source: accuweather.com). We would hope that we get to see a full game of cricket. This is the first game of WBBL season five at the famous W.A.C.A Ground. The traditional pitch at Perth is considered to be one of the fastest, so this pitch even if not fierce will have good carry and bounce for the bowlers. As this is going to be a day-night game, the bowl might do a just a bit extra under the lights.

Head to Head

In the previous five games, The Melbourne Renegades women’s team has beaten Perth Scorchers women’s team thrice, while losing two games. Perth scorchers would want to improve their performances in the coming games.
