Winning the toss, Strikers’ skipper Bates opted to bowl. Scorchers did not have a great start as the skipper Lanning and Jones were dismissed early by Devine and Schutt for 4 and 3 respectively.

The incoming batters Sciver and Bolton had a stand of 49 runs. The partnership was broken by Sarah Coyte dismissing Sciver on 26. The upcoming batters did not score much, it was only Bolton with 41 runs who helped Scorchers to cross 100 runs. In the end, Scorchers ended up their inning at 115 for 9 in 20 overs. All the bowlers did well for strikers giving breakthrough at regular intervals especially Sarah Coyte who is having a good tournament with both bat and ball.

Chasing the target of 116, Strikers too did not have a good start as their top order collapsed for 22 for 3 especially the dangerous Devine got out for a duck.

It looked like the match was nicely poised up after the fall of 3 quick wickets. Then came an excellent display of batting from the young allrounder McGrath who scored lightning and unbeaten 65 in just 46 balls including 8 fours and 2 sixes. It was great to see a youngster handling the pressure very well and successfully taking her home victoriously. She was very well assisted by Winfield who scored a cameo of 24 runs in the chase. In the end, Strikers chased the target in 14.4 overs with ease and secure a couple of points in their points table.
