In the first semi-final of the 2026 Women’s Asia Cup Rising Stars, India A Women are set to take on Sri Lanka A Women in a crucial knockout clash on February 20 in Bangkok. With a place in the final on the line, both sides will be eager to continue their impressive resurgence after early setbacks in the tournament.

India A did not begin their campaign on a positive note. In their opening match against UAE, they posted 130, UAE Women chased it down in 19.2 overs to win by seven wickets. However, India responded in style. Against Pakistan A, their bowlers were clinical, restricting the opposition to just 93. The chase was fearless, as India reached 97 for 2 in only 10.1 overs, winning by eight wickets with 59 balls to spare. They carried that momentum into their final league game against Nepal, bowling them out for 78 and comfortably chasing 82 for 3 in just 7.5 overs. Two dominant victories completely transformed their campaign.
Sri Lanka A had a similar journey of resilience. They suffered a narrow four-run defeat to Bangladesh while chasing 115 in their opening match. But they bounced back strongly. Against Malaysia, they piled up 172 and then produced a commanding bowling display to restrict them to 66 for 8, sealing a massive 106-run win. In their final league game against Thailand, Sri Lanka A defended 133 successfully, bowling Thailand out for 110 to secure a 23-run victory.
