The tenth match of the women’s Asia Cup was played between India & Nepal. India came into the match with two consecutive wins while Nepal had won their first game which was followed by a loss against Pakistan. India registered their consecutive third victory by defeating Nepal in their final group stage match by 82 runs while defending a total of 179.

Highlights from the match:

1) Shafali Verma 81 (India)

The Indian opener continued her splendid form in the women’s Asia Cup. It was her first fifty in the women’s Asia Cup. The right-handed batter smashed 81 of 48 balls and missed a well-deserved century. It was also her highest score in women’s T20Is. She smashed 12 boundaries & one six throughout her innings. Shafali, for her performance, was awarded the Player of the Match accolade.

2) Sita Rana Magar 2/25 (Nepal)

The all-rounder was a standout for Nepal both with bat & ball. With the ball, she provided the first breakthrough breaking the 122-run opening stand between Dayalan Hemalatha & Shafali Verma. Her first wicket was of Dayalan Hemalatha for 47 followed by the wicket of Shafali Verma for 81. She finished with figures of 2 for 25 with the ball. With the bat, the left-handed batter scored 18 runs.

3) Deepti Sharma 3/13 (India)

It was another brilliant outing for Deepti Sharma. Currently, she is the leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets in three matches. Her first wicket against the Nepal side came in the form of Rubina Chettri for 15. Two balls later she was trapped in Kabita Joshi for a two-ball duck. In the last over she dismissed Kajal Shrestha for 3(7).
