Bio:
Bess Heath began her professional cricket career playing for Derbyshire before moving to Yorkshire. She was Derbyshire’s leading run-scorer in the 2017 and 2018 Twenty20 Cups, as well as in the 2018 Women’s County Championship, where she scored 210 runs, including her second county century, 108 against Northamptonshire. In 2021, Heath joined Yorkshire for the Twenty20 Cup. She made her debut in the second round of matches, scoring 52* off 36 deliveries against North East Warriors before rain ended the game prematurely.
In the 2022-23 Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, the right-hand batter had an impressive season, scoring 611 runs. In October 2022, Heath signed for the Melbourne Stars for the opening matches of the 2022-23 Women’s Big Bash League season as an international replacement player for Jemimah Rodrigues. She played seven matches for the side that season, scoring 128 runs at an average of 21.33, with a high score of 37. She played for Brisbane Heat in the 2023-24 Women’s Big Bash League season, scoring 171 runs, including one half-century.
She received her maiden call-up in 2023 for the ODI series. She made her debut in the last match of the three-match series, scoring a quick cameo of 21 off 14 balls, marking her international debut. She was also part of England’s tour to India, making her T20I debut against India.
