Georgia Wareham, a dynamic cricketer, made her international debut in September 2018. In the domestic circuit, she plays for Victoria in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL) as of 2024.
Wareham has quickly made a name for herself on the international stage. By 2024, she has scored one half-century across the three formats. The International Cricket Council (ICC) recognized her talent early, naming her one of the five breakout stars in women’s cricket in 2018.
In T20 Internationals, Wareham made her debut on September 29, 2018, against New Zealand during their tour of Australia at North Sydney, where she picked up one wicket. As of 2024, she has taken more than 50 wickets in T20Is.
Her One Day International (ODI) debut came shortly after, on October 18, 2018, against Pakistan during Australia’s tour of Malaysia at Kuala Lumpur. In an impressive debut, she claimed two wickets, finishing with figures of 2/22. By 2024, she has accumulated more than 40 wickets in ODIs.
Wareham’s Test debut was on September 30, 2021, against India during their tour of Australia at Carrara, where she took one wicket. As of 2024, she has picked only one wicket in Test matches.
In franchise cricket, Wareham plays for the Melbourne Renegades in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) and for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). In the inaugural season of the WPL, she played for the Gujarat Giants.
Among her accolades, Wareham received the Young Gun award in the WBBL|04 season.
