Jess played her first ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia when she received her maiden call-up. After that, she was awarded a central contract by New Zealand Cricket before the 2020-21 season. Kerr was also named in New Zealand’s team for the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand. She was part of the squad when New Zealand won the bronze medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
