Kevin Awino is a leading figure in Ugandan women’s cricket, renowned for her leadership and contributions to the sport. She rose to prominence when she captained Uganda’s squad in the 2018 ICC Women’s World Twenty20 Qualifier tournament. She made her debut against the scotland team in the year 2018. Her leadership continued to shine as she led the team in the 2019 ICC Women’s Qualifier Africa tournament.
In March 2023, Awino’s dedication and talent were further recognized when she became one of the inaugural twelve women players to receive central contracts from the Ugandan Cricket Association. This acknowledgment underscores her significant role in the development and success of Ugandan women’s cricket.
