She embarked on her international career in May 2017, announcing her arrival with a Women’s One Day International debut against India during the South Africa Quadrangular Series. Just months later, in February 2018, she showcased her ability in the shortest format, making her Women’s Twenty20 International debut against the same opponent.

Her journey in the cricketing world continued as she earned recognition from Cricket South Africa, being selected for the Powerade Women’s National Academy intake in February 2019. This marked a significant milestone in her career, laying the foundation for future success. Subsequently, she was named in various squads, including the F van der Merwe XI squad for the inaugural Women’s T20 Super League in September 2019 and South Africa’s squad for the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.

In March 2020, de Klerk’s dedication and hard work were rewarded when she received a national contract from Cricket South Africa, underscoring her importance to the team. This paved the way for further achievements, including her selection in the squad for South Africa’s tour to England in July 2020.

Her journey reached new heights when she was named in South Africa’s team for the cricket tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England, in July 2022.
