Bio:
Shemaine Campbelle is an attacking batter and a backup wicket-keeper option for the West Indies. She made her ODI debut on October 21, 2009, against South Africa during their away series in Paarl and 4 days later, on October 25, 2009, against the same opposition, she made her T20I debut.
Campbelle has made her name in the record books by scoring a century (105 runs) while batting at number 7 or lower, becoming the first and only woman to do so. She also became the youngest captain to play in a WT20 match, aged 19 years and 338 days. Then, she was also named in the West Indies squad for the 2018 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia. She played her 100th WT20 international match against Thailand in the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. In October 2021, she was named in the West Indies team for the 2021 Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe, and even featured for the West Indies during the 2022 ICC Women’s ODI World Cup in New Zealand.
Campbelle does not have extensive experience playing in domestic leagues, representing only the Barmy Army Women in FairBreak Invitational and the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL).
