Bio:

Shashini Gimhani, a 15-year-old exceptional left-arm wrist spin captured the limelight with her notable 7-wicket campaign in the U-19 Tri-Series between Australia, England, and Sri Lanka, which earned a well-deserved call-up to the senior national team. Originally from Devapathiraja College in Rathgama, Galle, a prestigious establishment recognized for fostering female cricketers, Shashini initially focused on her studies at the college. Nevertheless, her dedication to cricket soon became her primary focus.

Earlier this year, during the National Super League One Day Tournament, Shashini demonstrated her skills with an impressive performance. She bowled 11 overs, maintaining an economy rate of 4.73, and secured two wickets. While she had limited opportunities in the T20 matches, she displayed her potential in the U19 Tri-Series. Against England, she recorded figures of 2/12 in 4 overs and 1/28 in 3.4 overs, and against Australia, she achieved 0/14 in 2 overs and 1/27 in 4 overs. She concluded her campaign with figures of 3/48 in 10 overs against Australia in her only One Day bowling spell.
