Bio:
If there’s one player known for her accurate wicket-to-wicket bowling and outstanding fielding, it is Radha Yadav. Originally from Maharashtra, she shifted base to Baroda in the 2014-15 season and played in several competitions including the U19 West Zone tournament, Senior Women’s tournament (white-ball cricket) across both formats, and the U23 West Zone One Day Cup.
She made her debut at the age of 18 in a T20 match against South Africa. She was the first player to be picked in the Indian team from Gujarat. Later that year, she was part of India’s T20 World Cup squad in the West Indies, where she ended as the joint-leading wicket-taker for her side. She was also part of the 2020 World Cup squad where India finished as runners-up.
Radha Yadav is a very crafty left-arm spinner, more suited for the shorter formats, and is also a livewire on the field. As of 2024, she has played her only ODI match against South Africa in 2021. In the same year, she was part of the Test squad against England but is yet to make her Test debut. Known for her energetic fielding, Radha has taken some spectacular catches, adding to her value in the team. She has consistently performed well in T20Is, often leading the spin attack for India. She has been particularly effective in the middle overs, breaking partnerships and maintaining pressure on the opposition.
As of 2024, Radha Yadav recorded her career-best T20I bowling figures of 4/23 against Sri Lanka in 2018. With over 70 appearances in limited-overs formats, she has close to 70 wickets.
