Bio:

Fargana Hoque embarked on her international cricket journey in November 2011, quickly establishing herself as a key player for Bangladesh. As of 2024, she continues to showcase her talent in the domestic circuit, playing for Southern Zone since the 2021/22 season. Prior to this, she represented Rajshahi Division from 2008/09 to 2010/11, Rangpur Division in 2012/13, and Barisal Division in 2017/18.

Her career is adorned with significant achievements across both formats internationally. Fargana has scored three centuries and 13 half-centuries.

In One Day Internationals (ODIs), she made her debut on November 26, 2011, against Ireland during the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier at Savar (2). A landmark moment in her career came on March 25, 2022, when she became the first batter for Bangladesh to score 1,000 runs in WODIs, achieving this feat against Australia during the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup at Wellington. Adding to her accolades, Fargana became the first Bangladeshi to score an overseas century in December 2023 against South Africa. As of 2024, she has amassed over 1,500 runs in ODIs.

In T20 Internationals (T20Is), Fargana made her debut on August 28, 2012, against Ireland during the Ireland Tri-Nation Women’s T20 Series at Dublin. Her impressive performances have continued in this format as well, with over 1,250 runs to her name as of 2024. Her journey reflects dedication, skill, and a significant contribution to the growth of women’s cricket in Bangladesh.
