Grace Harris has become the seventh player to surpass 3,000 runs in the Women’s Big Bash League, reaching the landmark during Brisbane Heat’s second game of WBBL 12 against the Sydney Thunder at Drummoyne Oval in Sydney on 1st November 2026. The 33-year-old all-rounder began the sixth match of the tournament 49 runs short of the milestone and reached it with a typically aggressive 58 from 37 balls while opening the innings alongside Charli Knott.

Her knock featured seven boundaries and two sixes, helping Brisbane Heat post 178 for 5 after captain Georgia Redmayne won the toss and opted to bat. Brisbane Heat ultimately lost by six wickets, but Harris’s innings secured her place alongside Beth Mooney, Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine, Elyse Villani, Meg Lanning and Alyssa Healy in the WBBL’s 3,000-run club.
For Grace Harris, the achievement is a fitting reflection of a career built on power, consistency and longevity. She made her WBBL debut for Brisbane Heat on 5th December 2015, against the Melbourne Stars at Melbourne in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Since then, she has become the Heat’s leading run-scorer, accumulating 2,882 runs at a strike rate of 131 and an average of 25.50 in 123 innings across 125 matches. Her tally for the club includes 14 half-centuries and three centuries.
Her most memorable batting display for Brisbane Heat came on 22nd October 2023 against the Perth Scorchers at North Sydney. Opening alongside wicketkeeper-batter Georgia Redmayne, Harris smashed an unbeaten 136 from 59 balls, hitting 12 fours and 11 sixes. Her breathtaking innings propelled Brisbane Heat to 229 for 7 and a 50-run victory, with Harris named Player of the Match.
Harris’s journey to the milestone also included a season with the Melbourne Renegades in 2016-17, where she made 127 runs at a strike rate of 122.11 and an average of 12.7 in 11 innings from 12 matches. Overall, she now has 3,009 WBBL runs in 134 innings from 137 matches, at a strike rate of 130.59 and an average of 24.46, with 14 fifties and three hundreds. These numbers capture both her explosive impact and her enduring value across more than a decade of the competition.
Harris’s contribution extends well beyond her batting. A genuine wicket-taking off-spinner, she offers Brisbane Heat an important secondary bowling option and the ability to alter the momentum of a match with the ball. That dual-threat quality has made her one of the most complete players in the league and a central figure in Brisbane Heat’s history.
The milestone arrives at an important moment for the Heat, who began their campaign with a four-wicket defeat to the Sydney Sixers on 30th October 2026. Harris managed only 3 from 5 balls in that game, making her half-century against the Thunder an emphatic return to form, even though it came in a losing cause. Brisbane Heat will now look to bounce back when they face Tahlia McGrath’s Adelaide Strikers at Drummoyne Oval on 5th November 2026, in the 10th match of the tournament, from 10:10 AM IST.
As WBBL 12 continues from 29th October to 5th December, Harris’s 3,000-run milestone stands as both a personal triumph and further proof of her lasting influence on the competition.
